We are pleased to be accepting Hacktoberfest participants again this year and we are calling on everyone to use this opportunity to help improve Pencil2D while getting a chance to earn a free T-shirt! (woo!)

We are always in need of C++ / Qt developers, but even if you have no programming experience you may still be able to help us in other ways, so read on!

What is Hacktoberfest?

  • To participate, four pull requests must be submitted to public GitHub repositories.
  • You can sign up anytime between October 1st and October 31st.
  • PR’s will be due on October 31st!

How do I Join?

  1. First, register at http://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com
  2. Then, visit our Github repository at https://github.com/pencil2d/pencil/issues/
  3. Submit at least four (4) PRs (Pull Requests) to our repository. Quality contributions are encouraged!

Note: Contributions can be made to any public repository. While it doesn’t have to be ours, we would be very happy if you decide to work with us. ;-)

Pencil2D & Hacktoberfest

Every year we take this opportunity to welcome potential Pencil2D contributors and to reward them for helping us to make Pencil2D better we’ve decided to make a dedicated page to make this a recurrent event that our users and contributors can look forward to!

Contribution Guides

We’ve created two guides to contributing to Pencil2D for Hacktoberfest, one for coders and one for everyone else looking to help. We have jobs from making new features and fixing bugs, to improving our website, to helping create the user documentation or translating and proofreading our application. Please check out one or both of these if you want to learn more:

Note: Pencil2D is not related or sponsored by Digital Ocean in any way. We are simply promoting their event which has a beneficial impact in the open-source community and should not be considered as corporate endorsement of any kind to our project.
